Visual studio gives information about berkeleydbproxy::DbException not being caught. Problem may be related to extensions manager? Version: OpenOffice.org 3.0 Win32/XP German version from de.openoffice.org OOo_3.0.0_Win32Intel_install_de.exe Windows XP 32bit SP3, patch state Oct 08. Sometimes, the applications start, work a short time, then, crash. When starting one of the applications w/o the quick starter, OO works better, but still not perfect. For example, it is impossible to open the extensions manager. I used visual studio 2008 debugging and got the log that is attached by just - starting quick starter - attach to soffice.bin - right click, (new) text document - "unhandled exception" The related log seems to be: First-chance exception at 0x7c812aeb (kernel32.dll) in soffice.bin: Microsoft C++ exception: berkeleydbproxy::DbException at memory location 0x014ae4d4.. I have run openoffice.org on this system since the 1.x versions, including some beta versions of 2.x and 3.0. I have since removed all visible traces of openoffice from user and all user settings directory, registry, and program directory. I have un- and reinstalled OO 3.0 several times, the bug remained unchanged. Still, it might be a problem of incompatible versions of dependent dlls lying around in the system directory.
