------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Nov 17 04:04:45 +0000 2008 ------- Consider the following example. If I type the word 'his', I am offered the completion of "history". To accept it, I press RETURN; to reject, I carry on typing by pressing the SPACEBAR. Now, consider that I have the following text already in a document: 'her example'. I wish to edit it to become 'his example'. So, I click at the end of the word 'her', and BACKSPACE twice, followed by 'is'. OOo very helpfully offers to complete the word to 'history', which in this case, I do not want to do. So, as usual, I continue typing by adding an extra space (in order to reject the offered completion). Unfortunately, I now end up with 'his example', containing TWO consecutive spaces. OOo is behaving correctly, but it isn't doing what the user expects. The principle of least-surprise is an argument for an exception here. What should happen is that, when editing an existing block of text, if word-completion is rejected with the spacebar AND the next character is also a space, then OOo should discard the spurious character. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
