I don't get this problem by installing OOo3.0 (final) on Ubuntu 7.10...
This issue is about installing OOo3.0Beta2...
I'm going to close this issue since OOo3.0Beta2 is outdated and OOo3.0 (final)
installs without problems here on my system...
