You need to wait for release 3.0.1 which is planned for January: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease301 You could also use the developer snapshot, which includes the fix: http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS/entry/new_ooo_dev_3_025 However, this entails the risk of other problems, as this is not a release version. As a workaround, you can manually save regularly.
