In Calc, moving the cursor *should* trigger it, since the cursor position is one of the useful view settings to save. Also in this scheme, it would become a little tricky to trigger the storable state when Calc is in cell-editing mode, since the focus then moves to EditEngine. IMO it would be simpler to either allow always save or not on a per-application basis.
