To use it with OOo, there is no other way than saving my document as a .rtf file. When I do so, everything looks fine. When I close the document and open it again in either OOo or even Wordpad, the formatting is completely screwed up. For example, subscript and superscript characters have changed size, what was initially double-spaced has become single-spaced in some places, some characters have gone missing (especially capital characters). In brief, I have to go through the whole document and redo the formatting. I use Endnote because it is very convenient to handle references and download them from the web, and I don't think OOo offers the equivalent yet. Endnote saves me a lot of time, but this is no longer the case with this formatting issue. I am to the point of considering going back to MS Word, which I really don't want to.
