Well if that is the whole story behinf it I would tend to set this issue to
'won't fix'. After all everything works as designed, meaning you can see symbols
that got created in a document on a different computer and by a different user.

And since importing symbols from foreign formula documents by default and
without asking the user is potentially troublesome (why is My symbolset
bloated?) and because of the potential risky chance of having doubly defined
symbol names that actually should display different symbols, I think it will be
best to NOT import them just because they are available in foreign documents.

TL->MRU: you are invited to check what happens if you load a foreign document
with a different defined GAMMAA character, and after that (and while the first
doc is open) creating a new document and see to what GAMMA will be evaluated in
the display, the 'default' GAMMA or the the foreign one.
If the result is troublesome you may file a new issue.
And since it makes a difference or not if that char was predefined by OOo or not
you should try the same with a self defines symbol and a different defined
foreign symbol of the same name.

Also I suggest this one to be closed as 'won't fix' if no one objects.

TL->MRU: Please take over either for closing the issue and/or further testing as
described above. Thanks!
