Nevertheless, without going into all the details of the long discussion here: of course the request to be able to use ALT for *custom* shortcuts is absolutely valid. Moreover, we already use ALT for *preconfigured* shortcuts already, so I can't see any reason not to support that in the configuration dialog. The effort for this feature isn't extraordinarily, but it's also not low.
