This is helful IMHO) This is helpful, the whole script is helpful, esp. when you focus on your own distribution. But the results are "bad" (build breaks). If you'd reverse the defaults (stale links are non-fatal unless specified otherwise) it would be better. (if you'd had to specify "%define _unpackaged_files_terminate_build 0" to have the check to avoid typos in links, I'd definitely prefer the typos in the links...) regarding the location of the link (whether /etc is appropriate): I'm not sure about this either, but having the link in /opt would certainly not work. You can rely on /etc to be present and you can almost be sure that noone will install OOo to /etc :-) It is possible to add this link to a subdirecory in /etc - but this won't help to reduce the clutter ... > You install OOo into /opt/openoffice.org1.9.90. So, you could create a compat > link /opt/openoffice.org1.9 -> openoffice.org1.9.90. Naa, this won't help. The link is created for the sole purpose to allow for relocatable packages. When the user decides to install to "/usr/local/OOo", you could of course generate the link in /opt/ - but what if /opt doesn't exist create it just for this link? But in any case: Whether the link should go to /etc or not is Off-topic on this issue, please file a seperate one (or discuss this on the mailing-list first). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
