Whilst views don't have primary keys, it should not prevent them from being updated, afterall, that is why you can create updatable views in, not just MySQL, but Oracle and Postgres at least. Of course, the requirements for the views could be reduced, if tables from multiple sources can be linked into the single OODb file.
