------- Additional comments from changeds...@openoffice.org Sun Jan 4 21:25:31 +0000 2009 ------- When trying to sum cells that are not adjacent to each other ( using ; and not : ), the result is "err:508" The program automatically includes the ";" (semi-colon) when holding down the "ctrl" key and clicking cells to auto populate the equation. When you place the final closing bracket and press enter, the result is "err:508". I have found that when you use a "," instead of a ";" the equation works as expected, so it appears the function SUM() works but the spread sheet is auto placing the wrong cell separator when you click a cell. Example: open a new spreadsheet and place a number 1 in cell A1, a number 2 in C1, and a number 3 in E1. Then in Cell A2, enter =SUM( and then click cell A1, then hold the "ctrl" key down, and click the two remaining cells (C1 and E1). You will notice that the software will automatically fill in the Cell names separated by a ";" when in fact it should be a ",".
