hi tab,

the probable reason for the weirdness you have seen is that the properties
dialog does not update the user-defined properties correctly. i have no idea why
that is, and i have no desire to find out.

why? because OOo 3.1 has an all-new custom properties dialog (which actually
should have been in OOo 3.0, but oh well...), and it uses a different mechanism
to set the user-defined properties. so i hope that whatever bug you have
observed cannot occur in OOo 3.1 any more. (and fixing it for OOo 3.0.1 is no
longer possible -- too late)

therefore, i am resolving this issue as WORKSFORME. if you (or someone else) can
reproduce this bug with the new dialog in OOo 3.1, then please reopen this
issue.
