Actually, it really depends a lot on how large the OOo window is set and subsequently how large the text area is. It's hard to explain so I will attach a couple of pngs. Maybe this is a system video issue but it sure is ugly. The main problem is that if you have the zoom and window size set in certain ways you don't get a very good idea of what the printed output will look like. Sort of what-you-see-is-only-sort-of-what-you-get.
