At least not in the meaning that something is seriously broken. Yes, there might be assertions, but... Did you say yourself that it still works? Besides that, it just affects debug builds... And no, I won't fix it, target of my work on writer2latexexternal was getting it to build according to OOos policy. It's an external project, so....
