"Unable To Perform Certain File Operations on Sockets, Character Devices, and
Block Devices When Set to a View

Because of limitations in the interface between the MVFS and Linux, when set to
a view, it is not possible to perform certain file operationsâsuch as the mv
commandâon sockets, character devices, and block devices"

from the 1.1.3 strace i recall OOo could not bind /tmp/OSL_BLABLA to a socket..

needs further investigation

maybe we should contact Rational to get a copy of the kernel modules?
