It's weird, but I can confirm this issue.

Just some term definitions.

Shared folder (with uppercase S) - it's a special folder(s) to share files
between guest / host machine only. In VMWare Fusion, special hostname is created
(.host) to access these shares. These folders are mapped as drives and they are
normally visible in guest OS.

Folder shared (with lowercase s) - it's shared folder, not by Fusion / Paralles,
but by Mac OS X (Samba). These folders are accessible from all computers on the
network.

So, when I browse networks in Windows XP (guest), I can see my Mac 2x times -
".host" (Fusion) and "Robert Vojta" (Samba in Mac OS X).

I use VMWare Fusion and I've got the same error message. "\\.host\...\test.odt"
doesn't exist. My full path is:

drive Z: is mapped as \\.host\Shared Folders\Shared folder

I can save any type of document to shared folder (Samba - Mac OS X). I can save
Word 97 (doc) to Shared folder (Fusion), but I *can't* save ODT to Shared folder
(Fusion).

I tested another applications like Wordpad, etc. and they are able to write to
all folders. As you can see, OO.o can store DOC there too, but no ODT.

I've no idea what can be wrong. If someone wants more info, just let me know.
