So, here's another way to show the different behavior: - via Tools / Options / OpenOffice.org Base / Database, register a database document which connects to a database requiring authentication - open a new text document - insert an arbitrary form control - open the "Form..." property browser from its context menu - on the "Data" tab page, open the drop down list for the "Data source" property, and select the database you just registered In OOo up to 3.1, you will be prompted with a authentication dialog as soon as you leave the input field for the "Data source" property.
