i was able to reproduce it on OOo 3.0.1 but i'm not sure this is a real issue.

When you fill a line with black space the cursor is positioned at the beginning 
of that line and doesn't accept any more blank space

however if you hit any text key, that text is written in the line below... 
so you still have your blank line at the top, and new text at the bottom

my question is: what's the advantage to fill an entire line with blank spaces, 
instead of hitting the “return” key?
