The layout is 3 x 2. As we chatted about on the IRC, this patch also changes the code which increases the total number of objects in the slide. Indications are that OpenDocument accepts the additional objects. Untested is what happens in the export to Powerpoint. This along with the other layout will offer us reduced time in building slides, and also be a huge PR win for the merits of open source solutions.
