Kpalagin,

Looking back,I think my posting was not descriptive enough.

The delay I described occurs when the internet connection is broken or too
slow.I guess OOo tries to
link to that reference before opening the file.In the file responsible for this
bug-post,I had four
addresses which also contained the web address of the concerned party and
email addresses.Then
onwards, the file took very long to open.I guess one or two of those links were
not fast reachable.I wish I
had preserved this file.If I have it somewhere,I will attach it here.

In the other experience I referred to,I had a long web document resource where
I did not have a
'printable version' option.I did not like saving the webpage as it is,as the
webpage contained a lot of ad
material.I copied the text and accompanying images from firefox and pasted into
writer.It pasted well
enough, but I noticed the scrolling coming to a crawl.I saved the file and
exited OOo and reopened the
file. The file was opened slowly and again crawled in scrolling. This time I
saved it in MSOffice
format, opened the file in MSOffice even as it was loaded in OOo.The file was
correctly saved in
MSOffice(to the credit of OOo),it opened and displayed without a glitch or
slowness in MSOffice,but it
was very slow in OOo.The problem lay in the numerous illustrations which were
images on a webpage.

See in the attached file.I copy paste from a webpage. The images there were
stored were stored as
web-links rather then images, though when I pasted them, they were all displayed
correctly.Now,each
time I open it,OOo has to find their web-source or it cannot display them. Why
it had to do that when it
had the object itself? It could have saved the object and forgotten the source.

This behaviour I guess causes problems when there are large number of pages and
your connection is
slow.
