------- Additional comments from cyri...@openoffice.org Wed Mar 25 14:20:09 +0000 2009 ------- When I save a document in word 97/2000 format, all the references to figures are replaced by standard text: they do not update automatically anymore. Note that the automatic numbering of figures still works. To reproduce: -create a new writer document -insert a new image/from file -add a caption (or legend, whatever it is called in the english version of writer) -under the legend, enter free text and add a cross reference (category and numbering) to the figure. The text of the cross reference has a grey highlighting, meaning it is a field. -save the document as a word 97/2000 -close the document -open it -> the cross reference is no longer a field, it is plain text, so if the reference changes (e.g. you insert a new figure before the one you've just inserted), the numbering in the cross reference won't be updated.
