I draw your attention to this old issue: http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=25795 TAB - as it is a character below ASCII Code 32 - needs to be treated as a control-code. This is correctly handled within the ODT-XML-file, where it is a tag. OO.o itself behaves tricky when overruling the expected behavior by treating this tag as a character - an in the case of OVERWRITING is becomes nasty. However, control-codes need to be protected from overwriting by accident.
