The existing instructions in readme/read1st.txt say: With Microsoft C++ compiler --------------------------- For MS Visual C++ 6 and up start "make.bat win95-vpp40" in a command shell. Previously, running that command didn't work properly. The whole point of this patch was to make it work, and AFAICT it now does.
