If you are really using 2.4.0 I recommend a more recent version.
Please use the master view toolbar to get out of the master view. Perhaps you
have closed it. Call it again using view/toolbars/master view.
when using the correct layout for the new slide I cannot reproduce your 2nd
problem. Please attach the file . Thanks.
