The behaviour on empty cells has changed since Ver 2.4. 
No you should get Err 529 if a cell is empty (which doesn't make sense to me and
many others). The problem is, that the windows-version behaves different and
shows no Err: 529 but the Linux version does.

cell value
A1:  IF(B1=1;"";"")
A2:  =A1+B1            -> Err529 on Linux, 0 on Windows
