------- Additional comments from j...@openoffice.org Wed May 13 10:58:23 +0000 2009 ------- This is a follow up for issue 64357 The current implementation looks in a variety of folders which causes problems if these folders are on mounted NFS drivers which are currently down. Then OOo needs to wait for the system timeout before it proceeds. One approach of solving this is to only look for dedicated places. This is already implemented for Solaris where there is always (JDK 1.5, Solaris 10) a /usr/jdk/latest link to a JDK. It is currently unclear if there are similar places on other OS, such as Linux, FreeBSD, Mac, etc. There are also different Linux distributions which install Java differently not to mention the different versions and vendors of Java. This opens up a wide range of possible constellations. I don't see this being realized for OOo 3.1.1 unless some volunteers come forward. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
