That diagnosis is incorrect, IMHO.
I don't have access to my Ubuntu system right now, but I seem to remember having
tried that, and it didn't resolve the issue.
I'm on Windows XP right now, using OOo 3.0.0 ("OOO900m9 (Build:9358)") and I
have "Format" - "AutoCorrect" - "While Typing" ON. Still, the issue doesn't show
up here. I cannot easily update to OOo 3.0.1 (i.e., same version number as on my
Ubuntu system) at this time, so I cannot verify if it is specific to the OOo
version or to the platform, but I may do so later on.
