Click into the free floating slide pane to make it the active window. Press Ctrl-Shift-F10 for to dock the pane. This method is described in the help text. If there is no other method for docking the pane without mouse, this might be an accessibility problem. I get the same crash with the task pane and the same crash with the page pane in Draw. Ctrl-Shift-F10 works as expected in other modules like for function list in Calc or Navigator in Writer. I get the crash already in OOo2.4.2.
