But meanwhile I detected that OOo's treatment of the user data makes it useless to allow for changing the author name in the document properties dialog. OOo automatically applies the user settings each time a document is saved. So whatever name you had entered in the dialog, it will be overwritten. The right approach would be to allow OOo to have "persona", the ability to switch identities. You might know this from your email client. So we allow to define several personae in "Tools-Options" and in "File-Properties" you can choose one.
