As OO runs entirely in Ring 3 (userland), it can't directly cause BSOD.
This is likely caused by buggy video driver (running in Ring 0) and OO 
triggers the problem by [ab]using driver in unusual way. Please see if there 
is an update for video driver for your laptop.
