Just wanted to add that the problem persists in OpenOffice.org Calc 3.1.0. Is
nobody interested in correcting this?

I found that this number format code does not give the same problem:
General" mm"

If the cell value=3, then ”3 mm” is displayed just as is should.
Still, the number format code ”0.###" mm"” makes the cell display ”3. mm”.
