However, since it occurs in Writer while Writer is the only application open, I thought it must be a Writer issue. We have switched off the Windows Screen Saver but that does not help the situation. The screen goes black after 20 minutes. It's not the pointing device, it's not a Windows or HP setup, as this happens only in OOo Writer (can't say for other applications of OOo because my wife does not use other apps). Please realize that I have 28 years experience in the Computer Industry and I do not write from a novice perspective.
