------- Additional comments from tonyj...@openoffice.org Thu Jun 18 00:05:23 +0000 2009 ------- I created a template extension with a single writer template file. I used the instructions from http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Non-code_extensions to create this extension. The extension is loaded by opening the .oxt file and the template is then available correctly. I then updated the extension (changing some styles in the document, updating version num) and re- created the .oxt file and then opened the new .oxt file. The extension manager appears and prompts me if I want to overwrite the template. I select Ok. The License agreement page appears, I accept it and the extension appears to be installed. But - the template is not actually updated. When I create a new document using the template, it is clearly using the old template file. The problem occurs in both Open Office 3.0.1 (OOO300m15, Build 9379) and Star Office 9 (OOO300m9 Build 9358) and I have seen it on MacOsX (multiple machines) and Windows XP. I have not yet tried other versions. Having looked behind the scenes a little: The extension packages end up within this directory: .../user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages There is a file named "./registry/data/org/openoffice/ucb/Hierarchy.xcu", which seems to be the place were the reference to the templates is stored. But the reference in here is to the old version. So it seems the extension updater is not updating this file. I tried updating Hierarchy.xcu manually and this fixes the problem. So the problem seems to be a failure to update Hierarchy.xcu. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
