------- Additional comments from jeremygharri...@openoffice.org Sat Jul 11 16:14:35 +0000 2009 ------- I had same problem on upgrading to OOo 3.1.0 (on Windows XP SP3) - on clicking the 'updates available' icon, got 'cannot find browser' message, followed by OOo crashing; also failing to start extension manager via tools menu. Deletion of user profile did not resolve this: eventual use of unopkg (once I'd found this issue) revealed broken extension (lack of description.txt for DeltaXML OdtCompare extension - installed for all users) - dealing with this made things spring into life. But on reinstalling the extension, get an error message 'unable to create file', and extension is in limbo (doesn't show as installed, but on reinstalling, get error message that it is already installed). And on restarting OOo, back to the original problem: unable to open extension manager, or find browser to download updated extension; due to missing file in extension. Note: 1) alternative means of dealing with rogue extension is to use unopkg remove (do a unopkg list first determine the relevant extension name). 2) I have same problem with OOo-dev 310 m15 (in parallel installation). --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
