This issue seems to have two components:
- a feature request to embed fonts into the document
=> this feature request is already being addressed by product planning.
- a defect report that a symbol looks different on Windows and Unix
The defect report that the symbol for the unicode U+0438 looks different
depending on whether the font ISOCPEUR is available (on the Windows system) or
not (on the Unix system), is not valid. Since the ISOCPEUR font is not available
on the other machine OOo uses another good font to display U+0438 (cyrillic
small letter I), which resembles a reversed N. The real defect seems to be in
the glyph for U+0438 in the ISOCPEUR font. It shouldn't look like a small u.
The best workaround is to install the fonts on all the systems where they are
required. Even if OOo already had the font embedding feature far too many fonts
forbid font embedding.
