When linking an OLE Draw or Impress document into a writer document, the wrong
page may be displayed in writer. (I.e. in Writer, select Insert->Object->OLE
Object->Create From File, and check the new "Link to File" box)

I guess this is because the OLE/URL system has no means of specify which
DrawPage to display. In OOo-v1.1.x OLE linking was not possible and all embedded
Draw/Impress documents had just a single page, by definition.

However, external Draw/Impress files can obviously have more than one page. Now
it is possible to link to these files, a means of selecting which page to
display is required.
