Because OOo 3.2 will come with a newer version of the berkeley database engine
there will be an incompatibility which is explained below. This must somehow be
explained in the readme. Let me state the facts here and I leave the proper
formulation to you.

The extension manager uses the berkeley DB to save and read data which it uses
to manage extensions (including help files for extensions). These data are
contained in the user data (user installation). When users install OOo 3.2 then
the new berkeley database engine can use the existing data files in the user
data. When doing do, it changes these files in a way so that they cannot be read
by the berkeley engine of a previous office. This definitely happens when adding
additional extension and is very likely to happen, when extensions are removed.

If now the data files have been changed and a previous version of OOo is
installed, then these files cannot be read anymore. The result could be that the
office does not start, the extension Extension Manager does not start, or the
office crashes (different behaviour on different platforms).

By removing the user data, and therefore removing all user extensions, this can
be fixed. It would also be sufficient to remove the folder <user
data>/uno_packages, for example ~/.openoffice/3/user/uno_packages.
