I cannot confirm that nothing happens. But true is, what jbfaure stated, you get
the Filter selection box and then after choosing "Microsoft Word 2007 XML" the
document will be opened.
MRU->MAV: nevertheless the document should be recognized automatically. It also
works when you try to open doc format having RTF extension e.g.
