Does it consist even if you zoom into the view? I think that this is a problem connected to Anti-aliasing and the used monitor resolution. I can only reproduce something if I chose Slide Show/SlideShow Settings ,Type Window. With a quite small window something similar to your screenshot appears. Normally I use a 24 inch Monitor and cannot reproduce your problem.
