------- Additional comments from joshl...@openoffice.org Tue Sep 1 16:47:10 +0000 2009 ------- I've had this issue too on a WinXP x86 platform, in the 3.1 version of OOo. The issue here is that when changing from Text to Numeric formatting it leaves an apostrophe (') at the beginning of the numeric value (not in the representation, only in the value. You can see it in the formula bar) which makes it impossible to take that value as a number. For example: typing a column with values "12" "012" "995" "thing0" as text format and then changing the numbers into numeric format you would get the values as "'12" "'012" "'995" "thing0" so if you type in that column "0223" as a numeric formatted object and sort the column it would appear in the next order: "0223" "'012" "'12" "'995" "thing0". This happens often, but not always. specially if you type again in the cell where you have just changed the format. Is there a way to avoid this? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
