------- Additional comments from wod...@openoffice.org Wed Sep 2 03:27:23 +0000 2009 ------- Actually OOO310m19 (most recent release, and the previous version as well) on a Mac running OS 10.5.8 (leopard) If you create in writer any line of text that includes symbols using the Insert->Special Character method, the symbols appear correctly in the on-screen version of the document but when you export as pdf, in the resultant pdf file all instances of those symbols appear as blanks (observed using both Adobe reader 9.1.3 and Macs Preview). Blanks, not boxes or question marks as in previous issues from 2003. I found a work around that if you go to 'print' and from there choose to save as pdf, in the resultant file the symbols appear correctly. I confirmed this result using a one-line .odt file with the symbols lambda and omega incorporated within regular text. I'll attach the original .odt file and the output pdf file if I can find the place where that is done. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
