------- Additional comments from jfehrib...@openoffice.org Wed Sep 2 19:33:53 +0000 2009 ------- I am puzzled by the findings from my latest test. I went to the public library and used a computer with Win XP SP2. I first downloaded OO 3.0.1 and tested, then downloaded OO 3.1.1 and tested. The two versions of OO gave the same results in my tests, which was a 2 minute delay before the dialog box showed "Available tables/ranges". If I kept OO open and tested again, it only took two seconds. To recap my test procedure, I open a new OO spreadsheet, then: Insert ... Link to External Data Specify the following in URL text box: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/cq?s=INTC,SCHW Key <Enter> With OO 3.0.1 on Win XP, SP3, it would take many minutes (15-60) before the dialog box showed "Available tables/ranges". With OO 3.0.1 on Linux, it takes about 2 seconds. With OO 2.4 on Win XP SP3, it takes about 2 seconds. What I found puzzling in the latest test is that the 2 minutes required was so different from the 2 seconds and 15+ minutes in previous tests. Fortunately, I am able to happily use OO 2.4 on my Win XP system at home and all works well, so this issue isn't killing me. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
