I did assign the shadow with area-dialog, then tabpage shadow. BTW, there seems to be another small bug here: To assign the shadow to the textbox using the Line and Filling toolbar one needs to click right onto the border of the textbox. Clicking into to textbox, which opens the text formatting toolbar, and then onto the border of the textbox does not switch back to the Line and Filling toolbar.
