I tested OOo 3.1.1 on Fedora Linux 11. Steps to reproduce: 1) Create a numbered list 2) Create a cross reference to one of the items in the list: Insert > Cross Reference > Type: Numbered paragraphs ... 3) Change the level for the list item using Tab or the "Demote" button on the Bullets & Numbering toolbar. Expected behavior: The number shown in the reference field should change to reflect the changed numbering Actual behavior: The number in the reference field stays the same. Forcing an update (F9) updates the list references correctly.
