I was able to replicate the issue in Mac Os by following the steps mentioned in
the first post,
Steps to replicate are:
1. Open the .odp presentation file with Impress.
2. Click on the little PDF icon on the top (export directly as PDF)
Numbers inside the PDF document changes to a different font. Each time
the numbers change in different pages of the PDF. This does not happen with
every Presentation->PDF conversion process. I also noticed that only numbers
are getting changed not the alphabets.
I have tested using the attached document “test.odp” from the bug report and
another document “Feedlot Beef Prod-online-2” picked from the site
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/360545.
When both of these documents are converted to PDF format, numbers are changed
to “Hebrew like” font as mentioned by "rdanse".

I did some additional testing to check whether this issue happens with
Microsoft Power Point presentation. I have saved test.odp into test.ppt format.
Opened “test.ppt” with Microsoft PowerPoint for Mac (version 12.0
(071130)).Converted into PDF using File -> Print -> PDF-> Save As PDF. Tried
this operation several times and was not able to see this issue at all.
I also was not able to see this issue with OOo 3.1 installed in Windows XP
Professional SP3 (2GB RAM).
I would recommend looking into this bug, as it is making the converted PDF
documents unusable for the lecture/presentation.

RAM - 4GB RAM
Open Office version: OpenOffice.org 3.1.1, OOO310m19 (Build: 9420)
