Dear Sir,

I was experimenting on usage of transparent images in OpenOffice.Org writer
software, for some purpose. I am using version 3.1.1 (Debian - Ubuntu).

My problem:

When I inserted a .gif format transparent image into a document (document was in
.doc format), I could see the transparent property of the image. i.e. any object
(text or image) was visible through the transparent image. But when I saved and
closed then again re-opened the document, the image lost its transparency and it
appeared as if it is a Square box filled with white. No transparency of the
image.

Please let us know if I were wrong somewhere.
