I can reproduce this problem on Solaris version, too. (even without Ja resource)
It's a not only help contents, but Japanese bold character in normal Writer
documents also disappear randomly.
How to reproduce:
1. copy & paste below Japense string in Writer (with antialiasing on)
あいうえお
2. select all and make it bold
3. put cursor at the right side of this string and press Backspace repeatedly
Then displaying these characters will be jumbled after 3rd backspace.
