My problem only with the "old" and "new", it doesn't mean anything for the
general user, when they use in future OOo 3.4.x or 3.5.x. 
I suggest to rephrase it, containing version number when 1.9 will be 
integrated. 

I suppose it will be 3.3.:  

"The database file was not stored correctly with the %PRODUCTNAME older than
3.3.\nPlease open the file with the older than 3.3 version of %PRODUCTNAME again
and select the tables folder and close it again.";

Or something similar.
