VLOOKUP specifing a range in another workbook

There is an apparent error in using VLOOKUP when the range is accessed through a
file link. Is there a restriction on the size of the range which can be
assessed in this way?

EXAMPLE:

=IF(C26<>"";(VLOOKUP(C26;'file:///C:/FarmPlan/inputs.ods'#$Levies.$B$4:$F$49;5;0));"")
returns the correct value

=IF(C26<>"";(VLOOKUP(C26;'file:///C:/FarmPlan/inputs.ods'#$Levies.$B$4:$F$50;5;0));"")
returns the value #NA

The difference in the statements is that the second contains one more row, in
the range, than the first.

The softwre is:
Openoffice.org.3.1.1
OOO310m19 (Build: 9420)

The OS version is Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600

The hardware is Lenovo X61.

I am not sure that I have given the correct subcomponent.

Is this an issue only with my machine?

Kindest regards,

ant1647
