------- Additional comments from lohitve...@openoffice.org Sat Nov 14 16:46:26 +0000 2009 ------- Hello All I was able to replicate the issue that the user looses the ability to edit the graphs & charts when MS Office is uninstalled from the machine Environment OOo-dev 3.2.0 (OOO320m4, Build :9450) Windows XP - SP3 MS Office - 2007 Reproduction Steps Environment - MS Office is Installed - Able to edit graph 1. Open the document uploaded as attachment ( Created an attachment (id=65319)) 2. Click on the chart and observe that MS Graph is launched 3. Observe that the user is able to change the values for the graphs and get a modified graph back to Impress Environment - MS Office is UnInstalled - Unable to edit graph Note : Using Sandboxie, Instead of completely removing MS Office from my PC - I uninstalled it under the Sandbox and ran all further tests under the Sandbox 1. Open the document uploaded as attachment ( Created an attachment (id=65319)) 2. Click on the chart and observe that an empty, read only Calc file with the extension .tmp is launched Importance to the customers / end users Users loose the ability to edit / change the graphs that were created in MS Office, once MS Office is uninstalled and only OOO is present This will be of some concern to the users as they have to recreate the graphs anew. I feel this will be a very common occurrence as more and more users after adopting OOO will be uninstalling MS Office and therefore I have voted for this issue I believe the key issue is mentioned in the original report The graphs even when MS Office is installed should be editable in Calc rather than MS Graph, if we can do that I believe we will solve this --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
